The Madrid indie duo Hinds, Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote, are back with the new single and video “The Bed, The Room, The Rain and You”.

With a mix of English and Spanish lyrics, it is a song that serves as the final taste of the release of their highly anticipated new album. VIVA HINDSis expected to be released on September 6th.

The road to this album was not without obstacles. After the release of The most beautiful curse In 2020, Hinds found themselves at a creative crossroads. Their bassist and drummer left, their management team split up, and global lockdowns put a stop to touring. It was a tough time, to say the least, but Carlotta and Ana’s bond, which they compare to “friendship between millionaires,” helped them get through it.

“The Bed, The Room, The Rain and You” delves into the essence of love – stripped down to its most basic form. The duo explains: “It’s a love song that has nothing to do with being with the other person or whether the love is reciprocated. We’re talking about the simplest version of it. Love is like a magical safe space that you can take with you anywhere.”

The accompanying music video, directed by the band, is a whimsical journey through fantasy, friendship and, of course, music. As they put it: “For ‘The bed, the room, the rain and you’ we wanted to end the story where it all began: when we recorded the album.”

The story of Hinds is one of strength. In their early days, they were forced to change their name from Deers for legal reasons – a move that initially felt like a setback. However, the enthusiastic chants of “¡VIVA HINDS!” from their fans at shows quickly turned the tide and transformed what seemed like an end into a new beginning.

The band has already presented several tracks from the upcoming album, including “Boom Boom Back”, “Coffee”, “En Forma” and “Superstar”. VIVA HINDS promises to be a chronicle and celebration of their journey, featuring collaborations with big names such as Beck and Grian Chatten of Fontaines DC. The album was recorded in rural France, with Pete Robertson at the production helm and contributions from top industry talent such as Tom Roach and Caesar Edmunds.

Hinds have been on the road this year, bringing their high-energy live shows to fans all over the world. They have already wowed audiences in the UK, US and Europe, with more dates in the pipeline. Their 2024 tour includes stops at the Electric Ballroom in London and numerous other legendary venues across Europe and the UK.

With VIVA HINDS On the road and with a packed tour schedule, the future looks bright for Hinds. If her latest single is anything to go by, this album is a must-have for fans and newbies alike.
