Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III adorns Vanguard Pu – Freshangle News




The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, today awarded renowned journalist and Editor of Vanguard Newspaper, Mr. Sam Oruru Amuka-Pemu, OON, Nigeria’s Representative to the FIFA Council, Mr. Pinnick Melvin Amaju, and eight other sons and daughters of Itsekiri with the Royal Order of Iwere, ROI, for their contributions to the development of Warri Kingdom and Nigeria in particular.

Fresh Angle International can report that other award winners include Eng. Felix Omatsola FNSE, Mr. Ade Mabo, Mr. Julius Dediare Rone, OFR, Mr. Alfred Temile, Dr. (Mrs.) Ajorutsedere Awosiks, OON, MFR, MNI, Master Eworitsewarami Justin Wilbert, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan and Mr. Misan Harriman.

The revered monarch personally presented awards to the recipients one by one, courtesy of the Royal Iwere Society.

In his acceptance speech, Uncle Sam Amuka-Pemu noted that it was God Almighty who gave the throne to the monarch and that He was also the One who directed his steps. He thanked the monarch for the honour bestowed upon him.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Amaju, who could not hide his joy, thanked the monarch for the honour bestowed upon him. “Your Majesty, this is a very great honour. I want to thank you,” he enthused.

Another recipient, Mr. Ade Mabo, also thanked the monarch and called on other Itsekiris to help build the Warri Kingdom.

One of the awardees, Mr. Julius Dediare Rone, OFR, on his part thanked the Olu of Warri Kingdom for deeming him worthy and bestowing the award.

“I have been honored all over the world, but this is the best award I have ever received,” he said.

He pledged allegiance to the monarch and the throne and prayed that his reign would bring development and greater things to the Warri Kingdom.
