We’re super excited about the upcoming 18th season of Art of Elan, aptly named “Mosaic,” and it’s got us feeling all kinds of emotions. This isn’t your grandmother’s classical music – it’s a fresh, boundary-pushing interpretation that redefines what classical can be in the 21st century.
We’re talking about collaborations that will blow your mind and world premieres that will captivate you.
From the central library to contemporary ballet
Get ready for a smorgasbord of musical delights. We’re excited about the free lunchtime concerts at the San Diego Central Library – because who doesn’t like to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city with their midday Mozart?
And hold on to your tutus, because Art of Elan is teaming up with The Rosin Box Project, San Diego’s coolest contemporary ballet company. It’s an artistic match made in heaven.
Composers who break new ground
The real eye-catchers? World premieres by composers who are setting new standards. We can hardly wait to hear what Rand Steiger, Christina Courtin and Mingjia Chen have come up with.
These are not your typical classical composers – they are the rebels of the music world, creating sounds that will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about classical music.
More than just music
But Mosaic isn’t just about the music. It’s a celebration of San Diego’s diverse cultural landscape and a spotlight on the innovative artists who call our city home.
We love Art of Elan’s partnership with local heavyweights like the Mingei International Museum and the Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego. It’s all about building community and showcasing the incredible talent right on our doorstep.
