Draymond Green’s brutal trash talk experience is relived by the MVP of the Spanish league after a dismal NBA stay

As a long-time Warrior, Draymond Green knows how deadly Steph Curry is when it comes to scoring. Green is one of the players who has supported Steph the most. In addition, the veteran has the responsibility of initiating the offense and therefore knows exactly when and how the Splash Brother explodes in phases. And while most players wouldn’t warn their opponents about their teammates, Dray isn’t the same guy. This was the case when GSW faced the Nuggets, who were playing without their star guard.

When the Nuggets were missing Jamal Murray, the franchise was looking for an international talent. Luckily, they were able to get their hands on Facundo Campazzo. The Argentinian is a two-time Euro League winner and a reliable point guard. However, when he and the Nuggets faced the Warriors, his encounter with Draymond was unforgettable, not because of the defensive end’s physicality, but because of his trash talk!

So ask to be subbed out and let someone else defend him.” Campazzo has been a tough defender for the most part. Despite being 5’10”, the Argentine is one of the toughest opponents to face. In fact, in the 3 games he played against the Nuggets this season, Steph averaged 40 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while making 60% of his shots from the field and above. 50% from deep. This was a crucial statistic of Steph this season when Facundo Campazzo was guarding him. If anything, it was smart of Green to warn him before he took on the responsibility of guarding the Chef! The Argentinian’s NBA career did not last quite as long. After two seasons in Denver, Campazzo played for the Mavs for a short time.

And as the front office decided, Dallas released him after just 8 games. Nevertheless, Facundo Campazzo had a fairly productive tenure in Spain. On the other hand, Draymond Green and GSW are now in a difficult position awaiting next season.

Campazzo later had much better years at Real Madrid and now feels “at home” In Spain, Draymond Green and the Dubs have only experienced the worst of times. The Warriors have lost Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, and other useful players season after season. And that’s not even the worst part! The Bay Area has become a lower-tier playoff team in the last two postseasons! At this point, everything seems to be falling apart for the Stephen Curry-led team. However, the front office has tried its best to sign notable names this offseason.

But other than Buddy Hield and Kyle Anderson, there were no major additions. Of course, Golden State was desperate to sign Lauri Markkanen, but that didn’t work out either. It will be interesting to see if things improve for Draymond Green and the Warriors, as they will now likely look to integrate younger talent like Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga. Given how far Steph and Green have come, the franchise doesn’t have its “dynasty days” much longer.

What do you think about the chemistry between Draymond Green and Steph? How many assists do you think Green gave to Steph? Let us know in the comments.
