Art and culture are the focus of the annual Artstreet Festival in Green Bay

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — A popular arts festival returns to Green Bay this weekend, and it’s a feast for all five senses.

The 43rd Artstreet, hosted by Mosaic Arts Inc., kicked off Friday at Ashwaubomay Park. The goal is to bring art from studios, galleries and museums and highlight the original works of talented artists from across the community.

Frances Meek, event coordinator at Mosaic Arts Inc., said more than 80 professional artists are exhibiting their work this year, with everything from mixed media and watercolor to photography and pottery on display.

In addition to the artwork available for purchase, the three-day event also offers guests a wide variety of music, food, competitions, games and hands-on family activities.

New this year include a lemon scavenger hunt for lemonade from Mosaic Arts Inc.’s lemonade stand and a community chalk drawing contest where attendees can vote for their favorites from each category.

“I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see all the smiling faces and all the beautiful artwork and hear all the wonderful music. It makes all the hard work of our Mosaic team worth it. We are a small group, but a very hard-working, dedicated team that puts on shows like Artstreet,” said Meek.

Artstreet will continue with musical performances on the same schedule on Saturday from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday from 10am to 4:30pm. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

Parking is available in the Lindquist parking lot across the street and at the Brown County Fairgrounds, including handicap parking. Sidewalks and paths provide easy access to the event, and shuttles take guests from the fairgrounds directly to the festival.
