Swerve Strickland points out interesting timing regarding AEW locker room reports

AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland has offered a disturbing timing theory amid the latest locker room reports.

Swerve Strickland will defend his world title against Bryan Danielson on August 25th at Wembley Stadium at the All In PPV. Beforehand, however, Strickland spoke about the current mood in the locker room and described it as “great.”

It was at All In 2023 where CM Punk and Jack Perry had their infamous brawl before Punk finally retired. While recently, fans were treated to another such incident between Britt Baker and MJF. However, Will Ospreay and MJF claimed the reports were exaggerated.

In a recent interview with Barstool Sports’ “Rasslin'” podcast, Strickland said that any problems in the locker room are often exaggerated.

It’s been great. I think everything’s been exploited, a lot of it’s definitely been exaggerated. They say it’s every other week, but it’s like – go back to last week, what did you hear? Go back to the week before that, go back to last month, go back to almost six months ago, you didn’t hear anything.”

However, while speaking, Strickland put forward a rather curious and interesting theory about the timing of such reports. The current World Champion said that such reports only come out before major PPVs.

So for me, it’s calculated almost down to the smallest detail. Right before every pay-per-view, right before every big moment that we have, something always comes out. Because it’s like there’s always arguments in the locker room, that’s the case in every workplace.”

Similar to the brawl between Punk and Perry last year, the backstage altercation between MJF and Baker became known just weeks before Tony Khan’s PPV in London.

Swerve Strickland believes that conflict is normal in every workplace

In the same interview with Barstool Sports’ Rasslin’ podcast, Swerve Strickland shared his thoughts on the topic of workplace disputes. He stated:

This happens everywhere. So I’d rather have people worry about something and get upset about it than not care at all. These are people who are passionate about their job, their work, what they do. And they’re probably the best at what they do, you know? So these people take a lot of these things to heart.”

As reports of Baker’s suspension circulated online, fans watched the decision being reversed on television and wondered if the whole story was just some kind of kayfabe.

In other news, Mariah May has planned a bikini-free celebration for her AEW Women’s Championship win at All In.
