Heiress of the Kansas City Chiefs Ava Hunt settles into her spacious dorm room at Southern Methodist University.
The mother of the college freshman, Tavia Huntingshared photos of her and her roommate’s stunning new home on campus in Dallas, Texas, as she said goodbye to her youngest child in an emotional Instagram post on Thursday, August 22.
“Today I left a piece of my heart at SMU. Ava Hunt, you have always been a mix of sunshine and hurricane – wild, fearless, and capable of incredible things. I am so happy for you, even though I am saving my tears for later,” she captioned the post, which showed a carousel of photos of Ava’s pink and white dorm.
She continued, “I wade through emotions as I walk past your now too clean room, the house is too quiet without your laughter and Chief and I already miss the familiar scent of your Sol de Janeiro body spray. I know you will come back often and that this means a new adventure and a new freedom… Watching you radiate your light and grow into the most beautiful version of yourself makes my heart beat a little happier. You worked so hard to get here.”
In one of the photos, Ava is seen posing in front of her bed, which features a pink and white floral comforter, a matching ottoman step stool, a white bed skirt, a neon pink sign with her name above it, and a pillow with her initials.
The shot also showed Ava’s desk and dressing area, which featured a lighted vanity mirror, pink desk chair, pink coffee maker, and pink and white Stanley mug. A light blue, pink, and cream rug provided the finishing touch.
A white nightstand between her bed and her roommate’s — which matched hers — featured two matching lamps, an alarm clock, and a vase of flowers. Another photo showed a large curved mirror next to her dresser.
Her followers couldn’t get enough of Ava’s dorm room – and her mother’s sweet farewell message to her youngest.
“Your room is such a beautiful reflection of you!!,” wrote one social media user, while another added, “Wow this looks nothing like my dorm room at SMU! What a beautiful letter to her, she is such a shining light and so blessed to have such a loving and supportive family. God bless and keep you all!”
Ava’s departure from college comes ahead of the Chiefs’ 2024-2025 NFL season, which begins on September 5 with a game against the Baltimore Ravens at their home stadium, Arrowhead Stadium. There, fans will Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and others begin the journey to their third consecutive Super Bowl victory.
