Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster doesn’t let you take erotic photos

Fans of Dead Rising, the 2006 zombie apocalypse title, are dismayed to learn that they no longer receive in-game points for taking “erotic” photos. Well, maybe “dismayed” is a bit of an exaggeration, but there are some tongue-in-cheek comments about the “too politically correct” removal of “erotica” points in the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

In a recent developer diary, first reported by Famitsu, Capcom announced the decision to completely remove points for erotic photos for the upcoming game, which is scheduled to be released on September 19th.

Keep it clean

Admittedly, it was a few scary in 2006. Let’s say you managed to snap a picture of a zombie woman lying on her back, taking advantage of an angle that let you see under her dress. That would earn you “eroticism” points and increase the value of your photos. Everything from cleavage to salacious elements earned you those points, but that won’t be the case in the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

Capcom has confirmed that while photography will remain a central element of the game, there will no longer be points awarded for offensive angles.

Expectations are high for the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. It has been upgraded with several quality of life improvements such as auto-saving, and the majority of the game’s environment – which is set in and around a shopping mall – has been completely reworked.
