Celebrate Fox River Grove’s birthday at Fox Fest and attend the Truck ‘N Food Show in Woodstock – Shaw Local

Here are five things you can do this weekend:

Fox Fest: Celebrate Fox River Grove’s 105th anniversary during Fox Fest Friday through Sunday at Lions Park, 101 Beach Way Drive. The weekend is full of fun, including rides, live music, vendors and food trucks at the free admission event. Musical acts include Hello Weekend, Sixteen Candles and The Honey Men. Zero Fest: Enjoy a day of sober fun at the second annual Zero Fest from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at The Other Side in downtown Crystal Lake, 135 Beardsley St. The family-friendly party will feature live music, local vendors and food trucks. Activities for kids include bounce houses, face painting and games. A cornhole tournament and flash tattoos are also planned. Attendees are encouraged to write their name and sobriety date on the bar’s brick wall. Admission to the event is free, but a $5 donation is appreciated. Food and Trucks: Visit the McHenry County Fairgrounds for the Truck ‘N Food Show from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at 11900 Country Club Road, Woodstock. The event will feature semi-truck shows, food trucks and live music. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the best semi-trucks. General admission is $10 and $5 for children, seniors, military and first responders. Proceeds will go to the McHenry County Fair to bring the restrooms in the main building into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Fun day for the whole family: Woodstock will host a free Family Fun Day on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. in the historic Woodstock Square. There will be plenty of activities including a trackless railroad, balloon animals, petting zoo, bounce houses, bingo, arts and crafts and games. Local nonprofits will be offering activities and giveaways. Food and Kona ice cream will be available for purchase on-site. Ice Cream Meetup: Join the Marengo Society for Historic Preservation for an old-fashioned ice cream gathering from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Hutchinson-Nork House, 206 W. Washington St. The free event will feature a barbershop quartet and participants can view the restoration progress of the historic home.
