Stabbing in Green Township leaves one dead and another injured

A man was arrested after one of his parents was killed and the other injured in a stabbing Friday afternoon, according to Green Township police.

Shortly before 4 p.m., Green Township Police and Fire and EMS personnel were called to the 3300 block of Palmhill Lane for a report of a stabbing.

When they arrived, officers found two victims with stab wounds.

Barbara Mortimer, 75, of Green Township was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, a 75-year-old man, was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

The suspect was identified as Kenneth Mortimer, 40, of Green Township, officials said. An investigation revealed that Kenneth Mortimer stabbed his parents during an argument, police said.

He was later tracked down by officers and taken into custody. He is accused of murder, attempted murder and grievous bodily harm, police said.

According to court documents, Kenneth Mortimer is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail on $2 million bail.
