At the moment, John Janssen is considered by some to be the new Slade Smiley, but that’s not a good comparison. Fans of Real Housewives of Orange County met John as Shannon Beador’s boyfriend. The duo were together for three and a half years, but their love machine had major problems. It takes two to tango, but many people don’t blame Shannon for many things… Now fans are seeing a different side of the businessman, as he is dating Alexis Bellino. Is it possible that John has a bad reputation? And should viewers start avoiding John and instead give him a second chance?
Maybe, just maybe, the fans should give John a break. If he treats Alexis the same way, then it will be a pattern and we can rebuild the club. But until then, let’s give him a chance to prove us wrong. We might be pleasantly surprised.
John Janssen is a normal guy
When it comes to the men on the Real Housewives of Orange County, the bar is usually set pretty low. John seemed different from the others at first. He lived a quiet life that consisted of work, training, and spending time with family. Shannon came from a wealthy family and grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth. Early on in their relationship, Shannon’s daughter noticed that the Real for Real founder needed a man who could take care of her financially, and she didn’t think he could do that.
John has built his million dollar fortune thanks to his passion for business. As a vice president at Wood Gutmann & Bogart, he works hard, but fans rarely see him spend his money. He has a nice house and a boat, which seems to be enough to keep him happy. John also grew up in a modest family. Could it be that John has never dated a rich woman before Shannon? Maybe we should give the guy a little more leeway.
John Janssen was a reality star against his will
From day one, it was clear that John never wanted a camera in his face. Every time Bravo caught him in a scene, he was uncomfortable. During the Reality with the King podcast, John spoke about his relationship with Shannon. Surprisingly, he had some kind words for the mother of three. John shared, “She has a wonderful side. But I think people out there just think that John was the problem in the relationship, and I would just challenge people to think about what it might be like to be with Shannon.” John has a soft side, and the words of haters actually seem to upset him.
John told the host: “I’m not on the show but I think I get talked about more than anyone else, which is quite surreal.” Like any normal person, John has overcome the hate, adding: “They don’t know me. For example, I’ve never spoken to Emily Simpson – and she definitely doesn’t like me, but she doesn’t know me. And they act like they know me.” John asked viewers to stop trolling, saying: “My silence is largely responsible for people hating me and thinking I’m this bad person, because all of these things that have been said about me have been crystallized as truth over the last four or five years. And that hurt me. It hurt me.”
John deserves to be happy
Personally, I’m rooting for John to open his heart once again. Just like Shannon, John deserves to find love again. Now, no one saw Alexis come on the scene, but sometimes the heart wants what it wants. As an outsider, I have to believe that John and Alexis’ meet-cute at The Quiet Woman wasn’t planned, and if it was, who cares – people are allowed to date.
Until the last episode, John wasn’t even part of the franchise. Lawsuits aside, I feel like he was minding his own business. While they were creating the “We Hate John Janssen Club,” I think fans also forgot how he had a knack for calming Shannon down. Instead of agitating her like David Beador used to, John had a calming side. John also never seemed irritated by Shannon’s constant and multiple outbursts, so hopefully she can find another patient man.
