Mr. Werner’s passion for aviation and technology was sparked during his academic career at Purdue University, one of the nation’s top flight schools, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Engineering and Computer Science in 2006. This combination of disciplines equipped him with the technical acumen and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in the aviation industry and gave him a solid foundation that was critical to his professional achievements. After graduating, Mr. Werner joined Piedmont Airlines, then owned by US Airways Express, where he balanced his flying duties with a growing interest in aircraft maintenance.
Over time, Mr. Werner’s side business of purchasing used maintenance equipment, performing repairs and selling remanufactured parts grew into a significant business. His ability to identify market needs and provide quality service led to an increasing demand for his expertise. This entrepreneurial venture eventually evolved into Pilot John International, where Mr. Werner’s leadership was instrumental in building a specialized team capable of meeting the unique challenges of the aviation industry.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Werner is an active member of several industry organizations, including the National Business Aviation Association and the Aircraft Electronics Association.
