Marie Kohler’s play MIDNIGHT AND MOLL FLANDERS published by Dramatic Publishing

Dramatic Publishing has released MIDNIGHT AND MOLL FLANDERS by noted Wisconsin playwright Marie Kohler. The play is loosely adapted from the classic 18th century novel by Daniel Defoe. This is the second play from Kohler’s work recently published by Dramatic Publishing. Her other play, BOSWELL, was published in July 2024. Both plays are now available for theaters everywhere to perform.

Description of the play: Moll Flanders’ mythical drive for love and survival led her on amazing adventures – romantic escapades, multiple marriages, and a career as a notorious London thief. The play begins on the eve of Moll’s execution in Newgate Prison, as she tells her story to the vicar, who is determined to offer her one last, unlikely chance at redemption. The play traces a dual journey of transformation for both Moll and the vicar, who cannot help but be fascinated – and moved – by her amazing story. MIDNIGHT AND MOLL FLANDERS examines the influence of gender, class, free will, and luck in an era as wildly focused on entrepreneurship as our own.
