Pack of Hope moves to new location in Pappa Rollo’s Party Room

WACO, Texas (KWTX) – McLennan County Pack of Hope began moving into its new space in Poppa Rollo’s Party Room behind its Valley Mills Dr location on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

Pack of Hope has been packing supplemental meal kits for students throughout McLennan County for 20 years. For the past 4 years, Pack of Hope has operated out of a space at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.

“We were offered a new facility at Poppa Rollo’s, so we are in the process of moving from Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, which has been a great host for us,” said Cliff Reece, Pack of Hope board member. “We knew it would be a temporary stop for us, but then Roland and Mary Duty stepped up and kindly offered to let us use their back meeting room as a packing station.”

Pack of Hope will open the new packing facility on September 3 and begin delivering over 800 bags of nutritious meals to 25 school districts serving eligible students on September 4.th.

Pack of Hope is a zero-dollar program run by volunteers and donations from the public.

Founded in 2011, Pack of Hope originally served just a few hundred students. As the need has grown, Pack of Hope now serves thousands of students each year.
