New Vice President and new product show that AV-over-IP is on the rise at AVPro Global and AudioControl

Two big announcements this month from the folks at AVPro Global, one of the most dynamic companies in integration today, show just how important AV-over-IP is to the company. One announcement involves the appointment of a new Vice President for the company and the other the launch of a new AudioControl product that Really new – in the sense of nothing comparable that has existed before in any form.

Although AV-over-IP and Dante play a big role in the commercial space, they are still relatively new to the residential space for many integrators. However, most believe that this category will grow in popularity in the residential space as more companies push their solutions.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based AVPro Global, the parent company of AVPro Edge, AudioControl Pro, Murideo and others, announced this week that Kevin (Jinghui) Wang has been named Vice President of MXnet Systems Group. Wang was appointed internally when he joined the company in 2020 as Vice President of Product Development.

Wang leads a newly created specialized design and development business unit at the company. This new unit is responsible for expanding the company’s MXnet AV-over-IP product line under the AVPro Edge brand. The company says demand for AV-over-IP solutions is growing, particularly in the business & corporate, education, government, hospitality & retail, houses of worship, medical and high-end residential market segments.

AudioControl launches eTV

In a separate announcement earlier this month, AudioControl Pro, a division of AVPro Global, introduced a brand new product called eTV. eTV is an eARC to Dante converter and claims to be the “first solution of its kind for CI channel professionals.”

eTV allows the stereo audio signal of a video display to be connected to any Dante-enabled device via eARC, easily distributing it to any zone. Compared to other solutions, AudioControl’s eTV is a stunningly simple way for integrators to enable the distribution of TV audio, especially from TV apps, synchronized across all Dante-equipped zones with no latency.

AV-over-IP expertise brings new solutions to AudioControl integrators

Another example of an idea that grew out of the company’s growing AV over IP expertise. This simple but logical solution is ultra-compact and powered via PoE, making it easy to install. The system even automatically recognizes it once it’s turned on and connected, making it easy to identify. Its small form factor means it can easily be hidden behind the slimmest flat screen TV. Local volume control is done via a regular TV remote, and in a multi-room Dante installation, volume in other zones is controlled via any third-party control platform.

The AudioControl Dante eTV eARC converter was developed in direct response to requests from AV integrators using eARC for more integrations and looking for an efficient way to interface with Dante systems. With the introduction of this innovative solution, AudioControl has expanded the capabilities of the Dante ecosystem and enables dealers to exceed their customers’ expectations by delivering TV audio in every zone with stunning clarity and effortless connectivity.

Maximum audio performance… no installation hassle

The company points out that the signal transmission of the eARC audio signal remains in the digital domain and is available to any networked Dante device. Sampling rates from 44.1 kHz to 96 kHz in 16-, 24- or 32-bit word lengths are converted to analog signals without affecting sound fidelity, enabling detailed playback anywhere on the network.

The AudioControl eTV eARC to Dante converter will be available from August 28, 2024.
