The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center, a full-service senior living community with 302 one- and two-bedroom apartments on seven floors and 8.5 acres, officially opened on August 15 in Gaithersburg, MD. The facility is located adjacent to the Washingtonian Center.

The Carnegie offers independent living, assisted living and memory support, all in a “thoughtfully designed environment that combines comfort and convenience.” The community celebrated its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the Carnegie’s general manager, Jennifer Pastora, along with the community’s first residents and Gaithersburg Mayor Jud Ashman.

“We are excited to welcome residents to Carnegie and begin this journey together,” said Pastora. “Our community is designed to not only meet but exceed the expectations of modern senior living. Our goal is to create a community where culture and connection thrive. We can’t wait to see all of our residents make this their home!”

Mayor Ashman shared his excitement for the opening, saying, “I couldn’t be happier that the Carnegie at Washingtonian Center is opening its doors. This moment represents the hard work and innovation of the Carnegie team and the City’s commitment to economic development and creating welcoming communities. More importantly, it offers new opportunities for retirees to make the City of Gaithersburg, with its enriching life, culture and community, their home.”

According to press release: The Carnegie offers Kisco Senior Living’s award-winning The Art of Living Well program, which promotes total person wellness. It also meets Forbes Travel Guide’s five-star service standards, ensuring exceptional care and attention for each resident.

Through The Art of Living Well program, the Carnegie has developed a strong sense of community through meaningful partnerships with local businesses and cultural institutions. Collaborations with The Art Collective, Gaithersburg Book Festival, Fig & Fire, Sarah’s Handmade Ice Cream, The Wine Concierge and others fill the Carnegie with culture and a vibrant community spirit, making it a truly enriching place to live.

Carnegie residents have access to world-class amenities including multiple dining options, a wellness spa, fitness center, heated indoor saltwater pool, lecture hall, art gallery and cooking demonstration kitchen.
