The design world is already announcing next year’s color trends.

On August 21, Behr Paint Company announced its choice for the 2025 Color of the Year. Additional color announcements from other brands are expected over the next few months.

Last year, several home decor and paint companies chose earth tones for 2024, including shades like Persimmon, Ironside and Cracked Pepper.

It’s too early to see any overarching color patterns from the 2025 Color of the Year selection, but if Behr’s pick is any indicator, consumers could embrace a deeper, more moody approach to design next year.

Here’s a look at Behr’s 2025 Color of the Year. This list will also be updated as more choices are announced.

According to a survey conducted by Behr, 73% of Americans said the color red can add “depth and character” to a room, and 61% agreed that a bold red wall is “warm and captivating.”

The rich hue, available exclusively at The Home Depot, is part of Behr’s color trend palette for next year, which the company says ranges from warm to cooler tones.
