Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku to move to new club

Chelsea trying to clear the squad, which is not an easy task as the club has 42 first-team players. Manager Enzo Maresca explained: “I don’t work with 42 players. I work with 21 players… The other 15 to 20 players train separately. I don’t see them. It’s not chaos as it looks from the outside. Absolutely not. They can even have a 20-year contract; that’s not what I’m concerned about. I don’t care.”

One of the players who seems to have no place at Chelsea and is under contract is Romelu Lukakuwho is under contract until June 2026. Last season, the 31-year-old striker was loaned to Roma, where he scored 21 goals in 47 games. Before that, he was at Inter Milan, where he scored 14 goals in 37 games and won two titles.

A third Italian club is next on Romelu Lukaku’s agenda. According to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli want to sign the striker for the coming season.

Romelu Lukaku to Napoli?

According to Romano, talks between the clubs are set to take place on Saturday, August 24, to complete the deal. A sale of Romelu Lukaku would help Chelsea begin the long process of trimming down its squad.
