Artists’ bazaar doubles and showcases local talent in Mars Hill

Artists’ bazaar doubles and showcases local talent in Mars Hill

MARS HILL, Maine (WAGM) – Artists and artisans gathered in Mars Hill to showcase their artwork and crafts as part of Giberson Studios’ second annual Artists Bazaar.

From chainsaw art to paintings and sculptures, there was a wide variety of artwork and crafts presented to the community. The bazaar featured live music throughout the day and a food truck to serve people. Event manager Amanda Giberson says this event provides a useful opportunity for community members.

“My goal was to showcase the artist. If you’re an artist or a crafter, I wanted you here, especially if you’re a new artist or crafter and you’re not sure how to showcase your work. This was a good start to get you noticed because the booth was very inexpensive so it wasn’t intimidating. So my goal was to get people to showcase their artwork. A lot of people are afraid to show their art and I just want people to show their art because it’s important.”

Last year there were about 18 to 20 exhibitors. This year there were about 40 exhibitors from across the county dominating the art fair. Giberson hopes to showcase and welcome even more artists next year.
