Retired heavyweight champion says he would ‘eat Tyson Fury for breakfast’: ‘He knows it’

Tyson Fury has only lost one professional fight so far.

That happened in May when he stepped into the ring with Oleksandr Usyk to fight for all four major world titles. It was the first undisputed fight in nearly 25 years and Fury lost on points after a close 12-round battle.

In December of this year, “The Gypsy King” has the chance to avenge the defeat and immediately after the first fight he spoke about how he had too much fun in the ring and how he will improve.

His corner came under criticism in the later rounds for conflicting messages, but he has since confirmed that he will stick with the same team the second time around.

Although he is still considered one of the best fighters of his generation, former world champion Frank Bruno does not believe that makes him one of the greats.

He told DAZN that Fury would not have lasted during his heyday in the 1980s and 1990s.

“I wish Tyson the best, but deep down he knows that if he lived in the era when I was younger, I would have him for dinner and breakfast too. I’m not going to sit here and disrespect him, but we’re talking about the era I lived through. He lives in a different cloud than I do.”

Bruno lived in an era when Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson were world champions. He fought both Hall of Famers, but recently revealed that it was actually fellow world champion James “Bonecrusher” Smith who hit harder than either of them.
