Soldiers of the U.S. Army’s 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, conduct live fire exercises at Nightmare Range in South Korea during Pacific Fortitude.
“We hope to give them solid experience that they can then use to mentor new Soldiers,” said 1st Lt. John Shustack, platoon leader of Charlie Company, 4th Battalion, 70th Armored Brigade. “And we can take that experience and build on what they already have and become an even more lethal fighting force.”
Pacific Fortitude aims to maintain long-standing agreements with the Republic of Korea by deploying troops, managing equipment logistics, and verifying unit readiness to reaffirm U.S. commitment to the Alliance.
