Adjacent to the dining room is Cameron’s elegant kitchen. Combining wood and marble can be tricky, but her cooking area is the perfect, organic blend of these two natural elements. “Applying a honey maple stain to the wood brings a touch of nature into the home,” says Theresa. “The notches and rings in the kitchen highlight the texture of the material and remind us of wood’s blend of softness and durability.”

This is especially true as the soft wood blends with the dazzling marble. The intricate design of the marble creates a visual contrast between the wooden cabinetry and the plain white walls. This stunning home office is my favorite area of Cameron’s home. Increasing productivity is the cardinal rule of design, so choosing a home office idea that combines functionality and style is a surefire way to make your work time feel like a chic scene from a movie.

“The home office features striking design elements, including dark wood built-in cabinetry that contrasts with honey maple floors and grass-walled ceilings,” says Theresa, adding that the combination of these elements creates a sophisticated and functional environment.

Finally, we enter the luxuriously cozy living room. Once again, we are greeted with clever pops of color in the same color scheme in the dining room, but in a more balanced palette, proof that there are so many colors that go with copper. “A similar warm tone is observed on the sofa in the formal living room and the home theater cabinet, which glow beautifully in the natural light that reflects off them,” says Theresa.

Cameron’s home combines style and comfort – what more could you ask for? A contemporary design can sometimes seem too polished or bare, but you can easily elevate your aesthetic with rich pops of color, textures, and whitewash.
