Well, that doesn’t sound fair, does it?!?!

A woman named Courtney posted a video on TikTok telling people how an American Airlines travel experience went awry.

Courtney was scheduled to fly from Sacramento to Austin with a stopover in Dallas, but things didn’t go as planned…

She said: “My flight from Sacramento was delayed by a few hours and at first they said it was due to a staffing problem. Then they changed their statement and told everyone waiting that it was due to the weather. But they kept reassuring everyone that we would definitely make our connecting flight because they could make up time in the air.”

After the passengers boarded, Courtney saw maintenance personnel troubleshooting the plane, and the plane sat on the runway for three hours.

She said: “I asked the flight attendant, ‘Are we going to make our connecting flight?’ And she said, ‘Oh God, no.’ Almost as if she was saying, ‘What makes you think that?'”

Courtney’s flight eventually took off from Sacramento, but while the plane was en route to Dallas, it was announced that there would be no more flights from Dallas that night and passengers would receive hotel vouchers.

She said: “We all get off the plane and look around and there’s just nobody there. So you get to the customer service desk and the line is hours long. They obviously did this on several flights because there were a lot more people in line than just our flight.”

Courtney said she waited in line for an hour and a half until another customer told her the airline was no longer issuing hotel vouchers because it claimed all delays were due to weather.

Courtney spoke with another person who was driving to Austin, and they agreed to share an Uber ride there rather than spending the night in Dallas. She said she was reimbursed for her flight, but not her Uber ride.

She explained to viewers: “The moral of the story is that this airline in particular is absolutely committed to using the weather as an excuse to evade its legal obligation to refund you your money and provide you with accommodation when it has technical problems, staff shortages or whatever.”

Courtney added, “Personally, I will never fly American again. And I’m very sure that without our credit card company, we would have had to pay for the whole thing.”
