Concept art of DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE confirms that the badass “Wolverinepool” variant was cut from the film!

Concept art of DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE confirms that the badass “Wolverinepool” variant was cut from the film!

Deadpool and Wolverine contained many variations and some inevitably had to be left on the cutting room floor. Logan’s doppelgängers were featured in a memorable montage that climaxed with the introduction of Cavillrine.

And as for the big-mouthed mercenary, he faced his own crazy doppelgangers when the Deadpool Corps assembled under the orders of Cassandra Nova from The Void.

Today, concept artist David Masson shared a first look at Wolverinepool!

In the months before Deadpool and WolverineWe’ve heard that there might be plans for a variant with that name. However, it must have been scrapped early on, and there are probably good reasons for that.

First off, this could be a concept Marvel Studios wants to save for the future (rather than wasting him as another member of the Deadpool Corps). Alternatively, a Variant who is half Deadpool and half Wolverine could have subverted other ideas and moments we saw in theaters last month.

However, Disney and Marvel Studios may have missed something when it comes to merchandise!

In a video shared by Masson, we also see a Spider-Punk-style Deadpool variant alongside what looks like another version of Kidpool, a Merc with the Mouth inspired by a Mexican wrestler, and even an old lady who can probably best be described as “Grandmapool.”

It sounds as if the artist wanted to present these and the variants he designed, which did make it in Deadpool and Wolverine in the coming days and weeks, so stay tuned to Masson’s Instagram page and ComicBookMovie.com for the reveal.

While we wait for those further revelations, Masson shared his thoughts on Nicepool and Dogpool, the latter of whom ended up becoming Wade Wilson’s pet in the film, but only after her former master died a horrific death thanks to the Deadpool Corps and its nonexistent healing factor.
