Shoppe Object NYC closes summer 2024

Shoppe object has concluded its summer 2024 edition with a significant milestone in its growth curve. This year’s show saw a 13 percent increase in exhibitor numbers and a 10 percent increase in individual buyer attendance compared to last year, underscoring the event’s growing influence in the design community. Notably, 22 percent of exhibitors were international, underscoring the show’s global appeal and reach.

“Our summer shows are always fun and full of bright colors for the upcoming season. And our annual Shoppe Object Show boat cruise through New York Harbor was the best yet, with a joy and energy that truly reflects the spirit of our community,” said Jesse James, founder and creative director of Shoppe Object.

This year’s show featured a range of activities and initiatives at both locations. In the Nourish space Skylight in Essex Crossing, Dr. Maria Geyman – Vogue contributor and founder of Masha Tea – presented a curated collection of beauty and gourmet products. In addition, the Shoppe Object Global Artisan Project, in collaboration with ByHand Consulting, highlighted global artisan products. Live collage sessions by James Gallagher further captivated visitors.

Pier 36, meanwhile, highlighted the innovative work of the season’s artist, Diane Vaquerano, whose creativity left a lasting impression. This area also featured Ukrainian designs presented under this banner. In addition, TradewithUA highlighted Ukrainian craftsmanship and sustainability.

The American Design Club Incubation Space serves as a meeting place for emerging designers to showcase their new concepts and showcases a wide range of innovative American designers. Visitors had the opportunity to explore a selection of ceramics, furniture, accessories and more. Both locations were united by the Black Lives Matter Action Initiative (BLMAI), underscoring Shoppe Objects’ commitment to social justice and inclusivity in the design industry.

As Shoppe Object looks to the future, changes are on the horizon. The last show was held at Skylight in Essex Crossing and Pier 36 in summer 2024; in February 2025, the event will move to a new, yet-to-be-announced location in New York City.

“This show was especially meaningful for us as it was our last edition on the Lower East Side,” said James. “We have been working hard behind the scenes to meet our clients’ calls and set the stage for thoughtful growth in 2025 while maintaining a high level of curation under one roof. We are beyond excited for what is to come!”

Next, Shoppe Object returns to High Point’s historic marketplace from October 26-29. This edition features a curated program by Blue Spiral 1, a renowned gallery based in Asheville, NC. Interested exhibitors can apply and visitors can register at www.shoppeobject.com/high-point-market.
