The next time you fly with one of these airlines, you may be served a cup of compassion: JetBlue Airways, Delta Air Lines, Alaska Airlines,And United AirlinesThat’s because these four major U.S. airlines have all added vegan coffee creamers to their in-flight drink menus. JetBlue became the latest addition to that list after discussions with PETA. We received confirmation that the company added oat milk coffee creamer after receiving more than 10,000 emails from our supporters requesting a vegan option.

By offering vegan coffee creamer on their flights, these airlines are making the skies friendlier for cows and more welcoming for the millions of Americans who don’t drink dairy for ethical, environmental or health reasons.

Demand for vegan milk has skyrocketed in recent years, while consumption of whole milk has declined 40% over the past 50 years. Millions of Americans – including an estimated 95% of Asian Americans and 80% of Indigenous and Black Americans – suffer from lactose intolerance.

On dairy farms, cows are force-fertilized and their beloved calves are stolen so that the milk that was supposed to feed their babies can be used by humans. Once their bodies are exhausted after repeated pregnancies, they are sent to slaughter. In addition, livestock farming is a major cause of greenhouse gas emissions, species extinction, deforestation and other environmental disasters.
