STARLUX Airlines introduces premium connection Seattle-Taipei

Alaska Airlines’ global partner STARLUX Airlines has inaugurated its new nonstop service between Seattle and Taipei, its newest transpacific offering.

The premium carrier will operate the route three times a week, offering passengers access to a number of exciting destinations across Asia from its hub in Taipei.

The opening of this new route demonstrates Seattle’s growing importance as a major international hub. Brett Catlin, Vice President of Loyalty, Alliances and Sales at Alaska Airlinesspoke about the new partnership with the carrier.

“STARLUX offers an industry-leading product with exceptional onboard service and access to a range of dream destinations across Asia.”

“With the arrival of STARLUX in Seattle, 13 of our global partners now serve our home hub, from which we offer more daily flights and destinations than any other airline on the West Coast.”

The flight schedule offers maximum convenience to travelers. The flight to Seattle arrives in Taipei early in the morning and offers seamless connections to other flights throughout Asia.

The return flight leaves Taipei in the evening and lands in Seattle in the afternoon, where it can be easily combined with domestic connections.

US expansion strategy

Glenn Chai, CEO of STARLUX emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion. “Seattle is not just our newest destination, it is a crucial milestone in our US expansion strategy.”

“Thanks to our valued partner Alaska Airlines, we are able to connect passengers from over 100 U.S. cities to the Asia-Pacific region via the West Coast for the first time. We are excited to bridge continents, expand travel options and provide exceptional service to our customers.”

This Seattle route follows the successful launch of two transpacific services by STARLUX. To date, the airline has launched flights to Los Angeles in April 2023 and San Francisco in December 2023.

These three cities serve as major gateway airports for Alaska Airlines, providing convenient connections between STARLUX’s international flights and Alaska’s extensive domestic network.

From its main hub in Taipei, STARLUX offers connections to more than 20 destinations across Asia. Travelers can easily reach popular locations such as Bangkok and Chiang Mai in Thailand, Clark and Cebu in the Philippines, various Vietnamese cities such as Da Nang, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Penang and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Singapore, Macau, Hong Kong and nine destinations across Japan.
