Unilever has issued an urgent recall of certain batches of its Magnum almond ice cream sticks due to contamination fears and issued a “do not consume” warning to consumers.
The affected ice cream sticks come in packs of three with batch codes L3338, L3339, L3340, L3341 and L3342, all with a best before date of the end of December 2025. The Food Standards Agency issued a statement warning: “This product may contain plastic and metal parts which make it inedible for consumption.”
It continues: “If you have purchased the above product, do not consume it. Instead, customers with questions or concerns can contact the Careline team on 0800146252 or email [email protected] for further advice.”

The company confirmed that the recall affects products sold in both the UK and Ireland, saying: “In the UK and Ireland, we are recalling a limited number of Magnum Almond Ice Cream Sticks as a precautionary measure due to the potential for plastic and metal to be present.”
Unilever stressed the importance of consumer safety, saying: “The safety of the people who buy and use our products is always our top priority. That is why we are recalling these products. Other Magnum products are not affected. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your cooperation,” Wales Online reports.
In March, Unilever recalled some of its Magnum Classic ice cream sticks over concerns that they may contain metal fragments. The 3 x 100ml packs affected were those with batch numbers L3324, L3325, L3326, L3327, L3328 and a best before date of November 2025.
