“Pretty much left it to the 7”

“Pretty much left it to the 7”

With less than 10 laps to go, the NASCAR Xfinity Series race in Michigan was stopped and John Hunter Nemechek was not happy. Nemechek tried to fight his way to a win but was interrupted by rain.

In addition to his duties in the Cup Series, John Hunter Nemechek also drives part-time in the Xfinity Series. He has already won this year and wants more. The rain is not playing along at the moment.

Instead, leader Justin Allgaier sits on the pit lane hoping the race will be called off. When racing resumes, there will be an extension to the finish.

As the warning flag was waved for Kyle Weatherman and then for the rain, Nemechek’s radio message sounded frustrated and disappointed.

“They just left it to the 7,” said a crew member over the radio about Jeff Gluck of The athlete.

John Hunter Nemechek won the second stage. He was one of the top riders all evening. Although there were a few delays due to rain, the racing was solid. It’s slowly turning into a battle for fuel savings.

When racing resumes, Allgaier will lead the field with Sheldon Creed on the front row. Sammy Smith, Nemechek, Noah Gragson, Taylor Gray, Austin Hill, AJ Allmendinger, Anthony Alfredo and Jeb Burton make up the rest of the top 10.

Who will win? Did Justin Allgaier win despite the rain? Let’s see what happens in overtime.

John Hunter Nemechek was right, Allgaier wins in Michigan

Justin Allgaier wins under caution on the final lap at Michigan while Kyle Sieg rolls on the final lap of the Cabo Wabo 250. This NASCAR overtime finish didn’t quite make it to the finish line as the field broke apart on the backstretch on the white flag lap.

Justin Allgaier takes his second win of the season. He won in Darlington at the beginning of 2024. Today, Allgaier led the most laps on his way to victory. He has also been in a top-10 series since New Hampshire.

It’s terrible when Sieg falls over on the back straight. Fortunately, his car stayed on its wheels. He was released from the nursing home.

This race didn’t have the most exciting action. But as always, the Xfinity Series delivered when it mattered most. Justin Allgaier had to hang on at the end of this race and hope his fuel would get him to the finish, and he accomplished that goal.

So who will win the Xfinity Series championship? Is Allgaier the favorite after today?
