Paris will hand over the Olympic Games to Los Angeles at the closing ceremony on Sunday.
But medals will still be awarded in the French capital and fans can cheer on the Olympians at one of several watch parties planned for the final three days of competition in Los Angeles.

- Friday, Venice Beach Recreation Center, 1800 Ocean Front Walk, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., live streaming of men’s soccer, women’s volleyball and breakdancing.
- Saturday, Hansen Dam Aquatic Center, 11798 Foothill Blvd., 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., live streaming of track and field, swimming and breakdancing.
- Sunday, Sept. 8, Lake View Terrace Recreation Center, 11075 Foothill Blvd., 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., live stream of Paralympic Games blind football, para athletics, para judo, para swimming, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis.
“I hope these televised parties inspire Los Angeles residents for what is to come in just four short years,” Mayor Karen Bass said in a statement. “When we host the Games, my top priority will be to ensure there is a program that all Los Angeles residents can enjoy. Ensuring these preparations benefit Los Angeles residents for decades to come by supporting local small businesses, creating local jobs and creating sustainable environmental and transportation improvements throughout Los Angeles is a top priority.”

The watch parties were organized by the LA Department of Recreation and Parks in collaboration with PlayLA.
Los Angeles will host the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games alongside other cities in Southern California. It will be the third time – after 1932, 1984 and 2028 – that the city of LA will host the games.
