Chaos erupted after an Air India hostess was attacked by an intruder in a London hotel room earlier this week. According to The Times of IndiaA greater tragedy was prevented when the stewardess’s cries for help reached her colleagues in the neighboring rooms, who immediately rushed to rescue the victim.

When the intruder saw his colleagues rushing in, he tried to escape but was eventually caught by hotel staff. According to the report, the stewardess, who was dazed after the incident, suffered bruises and was taken to hospital.

Officials of the Indian airline assured that the woman was now back in India and was receiving counselling there. The incident occurred after midnight at the Radisson Hotel London Heathrow.

“The crew member was sleeping when an intruder attacked her in her room at around 1:30 a.m. She was frightened, woke up and screamed for help. He attacked her with a coat hanger and dragged her across the floor as she tried to escape to the door,” said a source familiar with the matter. TOI.

“She was badly bruised and the intruder tried to escape. Police were called and she was taken to hospital. She was unable to fly back to work and a friend from the crew stayed with her,” the source added. The intruder was arrested and the case is now under investigation.

Air India confirms the news

An Air India spokesperson confirmed the news on Saturday in a statement obtained by The Times of India“We are deeply shocked by the incident of unlawful entry into a hotel belonging to a major international chain, which affected one of our crew members. We are providing all possible support, including professional counselling, to our colleague and his team. Air India is also working with the local police to pursue the matter to the fullest extent possible under the law and with the hotel management to ensure that such incidents do not recur,” the statement, which was obtained by the newspaper, said.

The airline called for the privacy of those involved in the incident to be respected and stressed that “the safety and well-being of our crew and employees is our top priority.”
