LeBron James celebrates with Draymond Green and enjoys his NBA break after winning Olympic gold

After winning his third gold medal with the US team, LeBron James treated himself to a much-needed vacation that didn’t require a long trip. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar had a great time with Draymond Green in Cannes. Just a few days earlier, he sang in the rain at an Adele concert in Munich.

James has been seen dancing and singing along to songs by Shakira, Drake, Sheck Wes, Tyla and many other artists, effortlessly moving along with the lyrics. When asked earlier this summer which player he would like to play with but hasn’t yet, Green gave an answer that should come as no surprise: “LeBron, without a doubt.”

Over the years, the two have become close friends, despite their initial disagreements during the 2016 NBA Finals when Green dished out James. However, Green believes he would have been the MVP had the Golden State Warriors beaten the Cleveland Cavaliers in that Game 7. Looking back on their friendship, Green remembers asking his coach Steve Kerr for permission to skip a game so he could drive to Los Angeles and watch James become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.

“Yeah, I was there. It was a TNT game and I was doing the broadcast. Steve said, ‘I don’t think this is good for our team. While we’re on the road, you fly to LA; the guys see that and they see you on TV calling the game. This is a big game for us against Portland.’ I said, ‘All right, respect. No problem. I’ll be there with my team,'” Green said.

Green added: “I flew to Portland, we won and now we’re here. So it was something I wanted to be a part of. It was just such a big moment in life and friendship. But there will be other big moments and we’ll make great memories.”

James spoke about his appreciation for Green’s game in an interview with JJ Redick on his podcast Mind the Game. Green is a four-time NBA Finals MVP. “Draymond Green’s ability to free up (Steph Curry and Klay Thompson) and then play in the pocket is his biggest offensive asset for (the Warriors)… Now his IQ is starting to kick in.” Green revealed via Taylor Wirth of NBC Sports that despite their intense affection for each other, the two will likely never play on the same team.
