One-way traffic control and daytime traffic shift for State Route 1 (SR-1) – Maintenance project continues in Marin County

Marin County — Caltrans is scheduled to perform electrical, curb and sidewalk work on the State Route 1 (Shoreline Highway) Capital Preventative Maintenance Project during the week of April 1. 19 August.

The intermittent one-way system is used to widen the shoulders in Tomales by Monday, August 19 To Friday, August 23 out of 7 o’clock until 4 p.m. every day.

This affects commercial parking spaces.

To remind residents of the construction work, signs with changeable information will be put up in the affected areas.

All work is weather dependent.

This overall project will repair sections of SR-1 and provide improvements for cyclists and pedestrians. The project will include improvements on a nearly 14-mile stretch from Olema through Point Reyes Station and from Tomales to the county line.

Improvements include resurfacing and repairing the roadway, installing new markings, replacing culverts to improve drainage, widening shoulders to assist cyclists, improving guardrails, crosswalks and signage, new signage, and improving sidewalks and pathways to meet handicapped access standards and improve access to West Marin-Inverness School in Point Reyes Station.

Caltrans is performing curb ramp and sidewalk work on State Route 1 as part of the Capital Preventative Maintenance Project.The completion date for the project is summer 2025.
