Madame Web Anya Corazón’s origins adapted (somehow)

Anya Corazon as Spider-Woman in Madame Web

One of the worst sins of Madame Web The film adapts Anya Corazón’s origins The story is told as faithfully as an hour and a half long film can, but elements of it are passed on to Cassandra Webb. Spider-Girl is inextricably linked to the Spider-Society, so it only makes sense that her character arc is at its peak when she leads them. Detailed in the Amazing imagination series, the original Spider-Society is an ancient order dedicated to protecting spider totems from the Sisterhood of the Wasp. Anya receives her powers through a tattoo given to her by a member of the Spider-Society when she was recruited as a hunter, an aspect carried over to Johnson’s Madame Web in the film.

Amazing Fantasy #1 cover featuring Ezekial and Anya Corazon

In the present day, a company called WebCorps serves as a cover for the ancient order. The company is owned by a man named Ezekiel Sims, who later becomes the villain of the Madame Web Movie. The movie transforms Ezekial from a near-mentor to Spider-Girl into a villain who barely has anything to do with Anya, aside from visions of a future where she will cause his death. Aside from that and a few chase scenes, the two barely interact in the movie.

Without Peter, Gwen or Miles, Spider-Girl deserves the lead

Spider-Girl leads the new Spider-Society team

Spider Society #1 roughly follows the plot of the film; Madame Web, with a bob and ankle-length red jacket, must rescue a group of spider-people who overcome adversity to save the future of all universes. Rather than taking up two hours of screen time, this comic gets straight to the point and assembles a star-studded team consisting of Web-Weaver, Spider-Punk and Weapon-VIII, with Anya Corazón is forced into the leadership position. Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, and Spider-Man 2099 are all captured, making Spider-Girl a surprising but logical choice for the lead role.

Note: Anya Corazón has been on many teams, including the Spider-Society, the Young Allies, the Web Warriors, and the Avengers Academy.

Anya is the perfect choice to lead Spider-Socity because in her past she has embodied exactly the type of hero that Spider-Man would like to be. During her time as Spider-Girl, she always made the right decision despite insurmountable obstacles.such as directly disobeying an order from Captain Marvel during the first Civil War or choosing to remain a hero after her father was killed by the Red Hulk. Since it looks like there will never be another entry in the Madame Web film series, Spider Society will fill this gap perfectly and facilitate the development of Anna Maria Corazón as a character.
