Card Factory tests delivery service with Just Eat

Just Eat has launched an on-demand delivery service for gifts and party items in collaboration with Card Factory.

The on-demand delivery service said the partnership would capitalise on the “huge opportunity” in the festive occasion market, which it said is currently worth around £13.4 billion.

The service is being tested in 19 stores across the UK, including Belfast, Glasgow and Leeds.

The companies said they plan to expand the test to 21 more stores later this year.

Consumers can choose from over 200 Card Factory products, including greeting cards, balloons and sweets, on the Just Eat app.

“Celebrating life’s moments is an important part of our way of life, so we want our customers to be able to interact with us in any way they choose, whether that’s in-store, online or through one of our partners,” said Sam Davies, Executive Digital Director at Card Factory. “Offering great value, choice and convenience is key to Card Factory’s growth strategy, and through our partnership with Just Eat, we look forward to bringing our unique offering to more customers in more places.”

According to a study commissioned by Just Eat, around 75 percent of people who have ordered products through an on-demand service believe that it will become a part of their daily lives.

According to Just Eat, the study of 4,000 European customers identified eight key moments that lead to food and retail orders through the app, one of which is giving gifts and care packages to loved ones.

The partnership comes after rival Deliveroo launched Deliveroo Shopping in November last year, a new service that gives customers the opportunity to purchase gifts and other non-food items through the app.

Deliveroo has recently expanded its Deliveroo Shopping offering with well-known brands such as B&Q, The Perfume Shop, Screwfix and Anne Summers joining the app.
