Frontier Airlines Mastercard now offers free checked baggage

Ultra-low-cost carrier Border airlines has just introduced the latest benefit for its frequent flyers. From today, every holder of the Frontier Airlines World Mastercard receive two free checked bags on all Frontier Airlines flights.

How does it work?

Many airline cards offer one or two free checked bags with their mid-range credit cards. This is especially helpful for Frontier passengers, who are only allowed one personal bag on their standard fare and must pay between $50 and $99 each for their first carry-on and checked bag.

Frontier Airlines DISCOUNT DEN members can take advantage of the airline’s Kids Fly Free promotion.

According to the airline, there are several important points to consider when using the new checked baggage benefit:

• Tickets must be purchased through FlyFrontier.com or the Frontier Airlines mobile app (not third-party booking sites).
• There is no limit to how often you can use this benefit
• The benefit of free checked baggage includes golf and ski equipment
• Primary cardholders must use their FRONTIER Airlines World Mastercard when booking to receive the free checked baggage benefit.

The inclusion of golf and ski equipment is particularly notable, as the large bags often have to be checked as a second bag, which would be free in this case. Doug Villone, head of cards and partnerships at Barclays US Consumer Bank, was excited about the new benefit:

Other benefits for existing cardholders include priority boarding in Zone 2 and a $100 flight credit per year on purchases of $2,500 or more.

Slide into status

Another highlight of the card this summer is the opportunity to instantly achieve elite status on airlines. Border miles Frequent flyer program. New cardholders receive immediately Elite Gold status for 90 days after the first purchase with the card. This status can be extended to 12 months if $3,000 is spent within the first 90 days of membership.

Other benefits of the card include no annual fee for the first year ($95 after that), a 50,000 mile welcome bonus, and the ability to earn elite status through spending. Bobby Schroeter, Chief Commercial Officer at Frontier Airlines, revealed that this is one of the most requested benefits for customers:
