This week, Frank Jereis was named executive director of the Yonkers Democratic Party. Jereis, 23, a rising star in Westchester politics, was appointed to the position by Yonkers Democratic Party Chairman Tom Meier.

In 2020, Frank Jereis was elected Democratic Chairman of the 2nd District after a contentious race, making him one of the youngest district chairs elected in Yonkers history. Frank has been involved in many political campaigns in Westchester, including some historic elections.

Notably, he served as campaign manager for much of the City Council and was at the forefront of campaigns that elected diversity to the Yonkers City Council, Yonkers Municipal Court, and Yonkers’ State Delegation.

After January 6, 2021, Frank realized the importance of courts and government institutions in protecting election integrity and democracy. He completed his bachelor’s degree early and attended New York Law School on a full scholarship. Currently, nearing graduation, Frank is Chief of Staff to Representative Nader Sayegh and previously worked at the Yonkers Commission of Human Rights.

Tom Meier, chairman of the Yonkers Democratic Party, said, “The executive director handles party affairs and makes sure we have the literature and petitions ready. That’s an important position.”

“Frank is a hard worker; he’s earned his stripes. He was a district manager and knows the political game. He has a lot of knowledge about our political system because he’s done the work himself.

“He knows what needs to be done and when it needs to be done, and he knows everyone involved, so he can communicate with elected officials, county leaders and our army of Yonkers Democrats on the street. I don’t have to tell him what to do, he knows how to do it,” Meier said.

“Nobody works harder for the Democratic Party than Frankie. He eats, sleeps and breathes politics. He is a tireless worker for the Yonkers Democratic Party and its candidates. I have no doubt that he is a rising star with a bright future,” said Yonkers City Clerk Vinny Spano.

“Frankie was my campaign manager and was instrumental in my victory,” said First District Councilwoman Deana Robinson. “He is a smart person who truly cares about our communities and understands the issues facing our communities. I am confident that Frankie will serve our party well in this new role and the sky is the limit for him.”

Yonkers City Council Majority Leader John Rubbo said, “I have known Frankie for years and he is exactly the kind of person we need to lead our party.”
