On August 15, COP29 volunteers took part in the “Green Recyclers” campaign in a park in Bakikhanov township, Baku’s Sabunchu district. Azernews
reports.

During the event, volunteers cleaned the park of household waste, which they delivered to “Temiz Sheher” (“Clean City”) OJSC for recycling.

As part of this initiative, COP29 volunteers also held discussions with local residents, emphasizing the shared responsibility we all have to improve ecological conditions in city parks and sharing ideas on the importance of clean public spaces. Volunteers also informed local residents about COP29, which will be held in Baku in November, and answered their questions about the event.

The campaign continued with an introduction to the waste management activities of “Temiz Sheher” (“Clean City”) OJSC. More than 230 kilos of waste collected by volunteers were brought to the waste separation plant for recycling.

Volunteers who visited the facility learned about proper waste management practices, modern treatment systems and trends. They had the opportunity to observe first-hand the processes of waste segregation, disposal and treatment.

This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts of COP29 volunteers to raise public awareness of climate change issues and solutions, and to highlight the importance of collective and community action in addressing these challenges.
