Who is the most important person in the Eagles’ locker room? Quick, guess. Jalen Hurts? Good guess, but no. Howie Roseman? You’d think so. Nick Sirianni? Wrong again. It’s Big Dom who keeps the Eagles running at full speed, according to DGunn:

Laugh all you want. Other fanbases don’t understand the importance of Big Dom in this organization. Last year, he was 10-1 when he was on the bench. After he was taken off the bench because the NFL wanted to make an example of him, the Eagles didn’t win another game. There were altercations between Nick Sirianni and players on the bench. Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown yelled go routes when the game was tied. It all fell apart when Big Dom was relegated to the top.
Laugh all you want at why I put so much faith in a guy who isn’t even on the roster. The game is half the season. The other half is in the mind. What happens off the field is just as important as what happens on it. There’s a reason the Eagles don’t have a lot of bullshit that makes headlines off the field. Big Dom keeps guys out of jail and provides intel on draft picks. Who else could spend weeks poking around Apopka, Florida, talking to someone who knew Jalen Carter? Not the retired NYPD detective the Giants probably employ. Not the guys from the Seahawks and Bears who were too busy trying to take him off their draft list because of “character concerns.” Big Dom was busy digging through the trash and eating the best shrimp scampi Central Florida had to offer. He probably rode the Teacups at Disney World and stopped off at his grandma’s in The Villages while talking to Jalen’s third-grade teacher. What the Birds got was probably the best defensive rookie in the draft, and later than expected.

Sure, people say he’s overexposed now that he’s so famous. He can’t lurk in the shadows doing what he does best for the Eagles. But Big Dom wants you to know what he wants you to know. Nobody is telling stories about him. He’s not doing any press work. You see what he wants you to see. He’s calculating. He’s hiding in plain sight. While he’s out there and teams think he’s lost a step, there’s probably a Lil Dom nobody knows about learning from the master. And now the NFL is screwed because they can’t kick him off the sidelines because of his new title:

Get ready for another magical Eagles season. The spirit in camp is incredible. Jalen Hurts looks amazing. They didn’t just beat the Patriots all over the field when they practiced together. They reportedly DESTROYED them. Now everyone is on the same page. Next stop: Super Bowl.
