TTG – Bulletin Board – Hotel Bel-Air announces The Living Room and The Patisserie

The Dorchester Collection’s Hotel Bel-Air is delighted to open new designs, The Living Room and The Patisserie, tomorrow (August 16).

The Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles ushers in a new era of culinary excellence and innovation with the opening of The Living Room and The Patisserie tomorrow. Created by Champalimaud Design, the new spaces are inspired by nature and reflect the understated glamour that has made the Hotel Bel-Air a Hollywood icon since 1946.

The new culinary offerings complement the hotel’s existing dining options, the restaurant and the bar & lounge, under the new leadership of Chef Joe Garcia.

As guests cross the famous Swan Lake Bridge, they are greeted by the aroma of homemade pastries and artisan coffee at the Patisserie, an elegant bakery located in a cozy courtyard. Featuring outdoor seating and a wood-burning outdoor fireplace, the Patisserie offers simple yet exquisite delicacies artfully baked by the hotel’s experienced pastry team led by Chef Rull. Guests can delight in a menu inspired by the fundamentals of French pastry. Specialties include an extensive selection of croissants and cookies, freshly baked breads, handmade cakes, artisan coffee and pastries.

Champalimaud’s design is reminiscent of a European boulangerie tailored to the Californian atmosphere of the Hotel Bel-Air. Just outside the patisserie, two courtyards provide the perfect setting for idyllic moments: a warm-weather treat from the seasonal gelato cart or a latte macchiato in bistro seating overlooking blooming flowers.

An evolution of the typical hotel lobby lounge experience, The Living Room presents exceptional afternoon and evening menus developed by Executive Chef Joe Garcia.

Here, Champalimaud Design has created a warm, enchanting atmosphere that complements the hotel’s verdant surroundings. A bespoke wallpaper featuring hummingbirds, jasmine, ferns and citrus blossoms is accompanied by fabrics in shades of green, yellow and red. At the centre of the room, the iconic fireplace glows, while guests are surrounded by a variety of palm and dragon trees that reflect the indoor and outdoor spaces of this tranquil retreat. The space is enlivened by afternoon tea, light fare, a caviar menu and specialty cocktails.
