Prioritize faster shooting
The Prioritize Faster Shots setting does exactly what it sounds like: it captures photos faster as you take them. When you have this setting enabled, it reduces the time between when you take a photo and when the photo is captured. This setting has benefits in certain situations, such as when you’re trying to capture a fast-moving object like a car or a cheetah in the wild.
However, if you’re on solid ground and there are no fast-moving objects or jungle animals around you, this setting can result in blurry photos that aren’t as good as you’d like. It can also limit features like computational photo enhancements (like HDR or Night Mode). Turn the setting off in Settings > Camera > Prioritize faster shots.

Live Photos
When you open your camera app, you’ll see a circular icon at the top of the screen – that’s Live Photos. And if you value high-quality images, it’s best to turn it off. Live Photos records a snippet of video before the photo you want to take. However, this setting can result in a lower-resolution image with poorer build quality. That small snippet of video can also increase your file size and reduce your storage space.
You may not even realize you have the setting on and you don’t actually want to include video in your shot. If that’s the case and you just want to capture the best photos possible, turn the setting off.
