This year will be an exciting time for KFC fans thanks to new menu additions such as Saucy Nuggets and bite-sized Apple Pie PoppersNow KFC customers have even more reasons to rejoice, as the fast-food giant has just unveiled a new chicken sandwich and two brand-new menu offerings.
KFC recently introduced a particularly tasty new version of its classic chicken sandwich: the Spicy Sandwich. This digital-exclusive option features the same buttery brioche bun, thick pickles and Colonel’s Mayo as the original, but the fried chicken fillet is served with a sauce of the customer’s choice. The sauce options for the Saucy Sandwich are the same currently available for its Saucy Nuggets: Honey BBQ (600 calories), Korean BBQ (620 calories), Honey Garlic (610 calories), Mango Habanero (590) and Chipotle Ranch (670 calories).
In addition to the launch of the new Saucy Sandwich, KFC has also added two new $5 meals to the Taste of KFC Deals savings menu. launched in April. Available from August 12th, one of the new bunch (590-850 calories) comes with eight chicken nuggets, fries and two sauces. The other new $5 offer includes a KFC Famous Bowl (590 calories) served with mashed potatoes, sweetcorn, chicken nuggets, gravy and three types of grated cheese.
In addition to the two brand new offers, KFC is also offering one of the original value packages that was introduced in April with the Taste of KFC Deals menu. The meal (540-810 calories) consists of two pieces of fried chicken (chicken drumstick and chicken thigh), a bun and a side of mashed potatoes and gravy.
“As customers seek more value from brands, we’re expanding our Taste of KFC lineup to include new KFC fan favorites like our Nuggets and Famous Bowls, each for just $5,” said Nick Chavez, chief marketing officer of KFC US, in a statement. “These Taste of KFC offerings offer three choices – something for everyone – at an incredible value.”
KFC is far from the only chain that has recently added more inexpensive options to its menu due to rising restaurant prices. Outback Steakhouse recently launched a new three-course Aussie Aussie Aussie menu The offer starts at just $14.99, making it the chain’s cheapest offer this year. It comes with a soup or salad, an appetizer, a steakhouse side dish and a slice of New York-style cheesecake.
Burger King also brought back its $5 “Your Way Meal” offer in June and announced last week that the promotion will be extended into October due to its popularity and value for money.
