Artem Chigvintsev had to miss his son Matteo’s birthday.
A longtime professional dancer on “Dancing with the Stars” recently missed an important day and admitted it left him heartbroken. Artem Chigvintsev’s son Matteo was celebrating his birthday and the DWTS pro couldn’t be with him on the big day.
Chigvintsev congratulated Matteo on his birthday via social media and promised to celebrate it in style when he returns home.
Artem Chigvintsev wrote that he loved Matteo “more than anything else”
On July 31, Chigvintsev promoted Matteo’s birthday on his Instagram page. “Happy birthday my little boy. I love you more than anything and I’m heartbroken that I couldn’t celebrate with you today,” the “Dancing with the Stars” pro wrote.
Chigvintsev continued, “I promise when Dad comes home, we can celebrate your birthday as often as you want.”
The “Dancing with the Stars” veteran also encouraged his son: “Let mommy spoil you today.”
The Instagram post included a handful of snaps of Matteo, some showing just the little boy, others showing his mother, former Dancing with the Stars star Nikki Garcia, his father, or both.
While Chigvintsev did not say why he had to miss Matteo’s birthday, it is likely due to the “Savor After Hours” show in Chicago, Illinois.
The show premiered on July 9 and runs through August 18. The Broadway in Chicago website stated that Chigvintsev would dance in all shows through August 6.
The DWTS family sent Matteo lots of birthday wishes
Although Chigvintsev was unable to be with Matteo on his fourth birthday, the little boy received a flood of congratulations through his Instagram post.
Many Dancing with the Stars pros left comments full of love and sweet sentiments. Gleb Savchenko, Jenna Johnson, Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkov left comments, as did Chigvintsev’s partner in season 32, Charity Lawson.
One of Chigvintsev’s followers noted: “It’s not about the day, it’s about the memories. I’m sure you will have great memories when you get home. Happy birthday Matteo!”
Another supporter wrote: “Happy birthday daddy’s twin!”
Someone else commented: “Oh… he’s daddy’s little mini-me! 😊 Happy birthday Matteo! 🎂🍦🎈”
“Happy birthday Matteo! ❤️ Your aunties on social media love you and watching you grow up right before our eyes is a privilege we don’t take lightly ❤️,” another fan added.
Nikki Garcia raved about her “heart and soul”
Garcia also posted a sweet tribute to her son on Instagram for his fourth birthday. The video includes highlights from the little boy’s life, from childhood to more recent moments.
The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant wrote that Matteo was “my heart and soul. My whole world.” Garcia added: “The moment I gave birth to you, everything changed for the better.”
She went on to say that she has never felt so much love as she does for Matto and that she feels like there is no greater meaning in her life than him. Garcia added, “You make mom smile like never before!”
“You will be my companion or my servant for the rest of my life,” Garcia explained.
The post, like Chigvintsev’s post, sparked many birthday wishes for Matteo.
Garcia also received many comments suggesting that it was time for a second baby, however, one follower urged others to refrain from making such comments and simply appreciate that she is sharing updates about Matteo with everyone.
