Ukiah Library hosts Art Walk with William Shi – The Willits News

The Ukiah Library Branch will host Art Walk Ukiah with William Shi on Friday, September 6th from 5-7 p.m. Come see the works of young artist William Shi and his collection of Chinese ink and watercolor paintings on rice paper, as well as pastels and oil paintings.

Since he was four years old, Shi has been obsessed with two things: observing animals and creating art. His favorite pets are his chickens, which he watches closely to understand their movements and behavior. With each brushstroke, he tries to capture the pure beauty and essence of the chickens. And through his art, he hopes to share his fascination with animals and the joy they bring to his life.

At the branch, Shi will host a live Chinese painting demonstration accompanied by live music and a hands-on creative arts program. Enjoy a book sale hosted by the Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library while exploring the Art Walk.

This exhibit is free to the public, open to all ages, and sponsored by the Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library and the Mendocino County Library.
