John Cena confirms number of dates for his farewell tour – TJR Wrestling

John Cena has outlined plans for his farewell tour.

At Money In The Bank, John Cena announced that he will retire in 2025. Although fans initially thought he would retire at WrestleMania 41, Cena later clarified that he wants to compete from January to December.

Now the veteran has revealed further details about how he plans to end his WWE career.

In a new interview with Collider, Cena said he wants to do “36 dates around the world” before retiring for good.

“I can probably confirm that Peacemaker will be with us through the end of 2024, and I can say that with the utmost confidence because I have left the 2025 calendar year to WWE.

I’m retiring in 2025 and I’m starting the farewell tour in January. I’ll finish it in December and I’ll have about 36 dates around the world to express my thanks and appreciation to the WWE audience around the world. So that’s what I’m doing in 2025.”

John Cena will not break his promise to retire

In another statement, John Cena stated that he will definitely not step into the ring again after his retirement in December 2025.

Wrestler retirements are notoriously questionable and their finality usually depends on how much money is at stake, but Cena is determined to do things differently. The veteran said there is “no check writer with enough money to change my mind about retiring,” and he is worried about ruining his relationship with the fans who have supported him.

Bron Breakker recently said his dream was to retire the 16-time world champion.
