Astrologer Venu Swamy has faced severe criticism for his recent prediction about Naga Chaitanya and Shobita Dhulipala, which he made public soon after the announcement of their engagement. Venu Swamy claimed that their birth charts suggested that they might divorce in 2027.
The Telugu Film Journalists Association (TFJA) and the Telugu Film Digital Media Association (TFDMA) have lodged an official complaint with the police and the Telangana Woman Chairperson condemning his actions and have also sent him warnings.
Meanwhile, Venu Swamy’s wife Veena Srivani is attacking Naga Chaitanya on social media. Yesterday she posted a video addressing the media. Today she directly addressed Naga Chaitanya and asked for a gift.
“Congratulations, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita. I wish you both happiness. I want a gift. Because you got engaged, but some people have diverted that and targeted others. I want a gift. I want one of the latest bags from LV,” she said in today’s video.
In her video yesterday, she avoided discussing her husband’s actions and instead focused on what she perceives as topics in the media such as film reviews and debates. She further said that the media itself has started debates and predictions on several occasions. She even spoke about film reviews, prime-time debates, the Telangana movement and the ongoing Raj Tarun and Lavanya issue.
Critics have pointed out the irony of Srivani’s stance and asked why she did not address the ethical concerns surrounding her husband’s conduct, especially given the sensitive nature of predicting the future of a person’s married life immediately after their engagement.
