This year’s theme for the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas Gift Auction reflects its vision to be the premier resource for business development in Central Delaware.

Through the Chamber’s four pillars – education, legislation, marketing and networking – businesses are informed, encouraged, connected and grown. The Chamber’s mission to help businesses grow, coupled with the colors and bounty of fall, makes “The Bounty of Business” the perfect theme for one of the Chamber’s largest events!

Not only does the Holiday Gift Auction allow attendees to do their holiday shopping while supporting local businesses, this popular annual event also gives donating businesses a chance to be in the spotlight!

In marketing circles, donating to an auction is a strategy known as “charitable marketing” and can be very effective in terms of awareness and exposure. In addition, participating in events like the Holiday Gift Auction increases company goodwill. When companies participate in a charity event hosted by a reputable, well-known, five-star accredited organization like the CDCC, valuable positive associations are created.

In addition to all of these benefits, think about the social media excitement you can generate by donating to the Holiday Gift Auction! You’ll have something special to talk about and it will help generate interest in your products and services. The CDCC loves to showcase its members and the incredible things they have to offer. The Holiday Gift Auction is a great way to showcase your expertise and give potential buyers a glimpse into the work you do!

Auction items come in all shapes and sizes, colors and styles, and values! From gift baskets to gift cards and signed memorabilia to travel packages, custom artwork, jewelry and experiences, businesses have plenty of room to be creative when putting together their donations.

You may want to create a limited edition item or a special package exclusive to this event! The items donated should reflect the essence of the business and it’s fun if they can reflect the theme of the event as well. Always remember to include your business cards, flyers and other items with your company’s contact information.

Businesses that donate items receive special recognition through their names on bid lists, mentions in the program, social media recognition, and more. We are currently looking for auction items.

This year’s holiday gift auction will be held on October 30th from 5-8 p.m. at Harvest Ridge Winery in Marydel. This event, open to the public, includes a live auction and a silent auction – all completely in-person.
