BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – What may be just another sign of the times in College FootballTwo conferences occupy all but two spots at the top of the preseason AP poll.
The Southeastern Conference and the Big Ten occupy eight of the top 10 spots in the rankings. Independent team Notre Dame and Florida State of the ACC are ranked seventh and 10th, respectively.
The top 5 teams in the AP poll are identical to the Trainer survey released earlier this month, with Georgia being the unanimous No. 1. Ohio State, Oregon, Texas and Alabama round out the top five.
Ole Miss is the third highest ranked SEC team at No. 6. Behind the Rebels are Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan and Florida State.
A total of nine teams are listed in the SEC. The Big Ten is represented by six teams in the rankings.
