Teachers’ resilience is so high because they often have to do far more work than appears at first glance.

They spend so much time outside of school hours grading work, replenishing materials, preparing their classrooms, and—one of the most difficult tasks of all—dealing with multiple sets of parents.

While many people understand how hard their child’s teacher works and leave them alone when possible, some parents view their child’s teacher more as a tutor or personal assistant.

A teacher went viral on TikTok after sharing a ridiculous request the parents of one of her students had for her, and it’s pretty over the top.

Katie Larson (@ktlarson27) is a teacher, mom, author, and content creator who simply had to share with her followers the boundary-pushing assignment a student’s mom wanted to give her.

In May, the mother of one of her students contacted Katie and asked if she could send her a list of all the students so she could write invitations for her child’s birthday party. The mother also told Katie that she was invited to the party.

Katie was very flattered and thought it was no big deal at all to send her the class list.

The next day, a stack of invitations to the child’s birthday party lay on her desk.

“I thought, ‘I guess I’ll just put them in (the students’) mailboxes later,'” Kate recalls in her video.
