Hillsborough teacher “sees adversity and diversity as a gift”

Hillsborough, Calif. — Good teachers matter. At Hillsborough, we are fortunate to have teachers like Kimee Goeggel.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize teachers and show them how much they are valued and appreciated.

This post comes from Heather O’Neill Berry, who nominated Kimee Goeggel of Hillsborough.

How do you know the teacher?

Work with her

What does this person teach?

Special Education Mod./difficult

Why do you think the teacher should be recognized or honored?

Kimee has a gift – she is inclusive and non-judgmental, she is compassionate, empathetic, and willing to do whatever it takes to teach those that most others would back away from or give up on because the challenges are too difficult. Kimee sees adversity and diversity as a gift that, when understood and nurtured, keeps on giving.

What do you think everyone should know about the teacher?

Kimee is a shining light who never goes out when it comes to enabling these special children/students to reach their full potential despite the hurdles they must overcome to do so. Her ability to encourage other mainstream students to get involved and include these students in their social circles is award-worthy!
